Former Legionary of Christ, Fr. Jonathan Morris, Going Strong!

WISHING FR JONATHAN CONTINUED SUCCESS IN HIS APOSTOLATE,

LET US RECOMMEND HIM TO JESUS AND MARY SO HIS FLAWED LC FORMATION DOES NOT LET HIM DOWN. MAY HE CONTINUE TO FIND HIS TRUE VOCATION AND BE HONEST WITH HIMSELF AND GOD.

Fox News analyst, author to address at Pro-Life Banquet Wednesday

An international celebrity and author will give the keynote address at the fifth annual Bishop’s Pro-Life Banquet, which will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Bossier Civic Center, 620 Benton Road.

The Rev. Jonathan Morris, author, analyst for FOX News and program director for The Catholic Channel on Sirius Radio, and priest in the Catholic Diocese of New York, will speak on the theme for this year’s event – “Witness for Life.”

Morris, whose latest book is, “The Way of Serenity: finding peace and happiness in The Serenity Prayer,” also wrote The Promise: God's Purpose and Plan for When Life Hurts,” and God Wants You Happy: from self-help to God’s Help.”

“We are excited to bring Father Morris to our diocese to promote our pro-life efforts and energize the faithful on how to continue uplifting the sacredness of life in our region,” said Most Rev. Michael G. Duca, bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Shreveport.  “I am truly pleased at how our banquet has grown over the years and I am hoping to see one thousand people in attendance on March 11th.”

Duca won’t be disappointed – more than 800 tickets had been sold two weeks ago according to organizers of the event.

The Pro-Life Banquet is open to people of all faith traditions who support the sanctity of life.  Project organizer Dr. Bernadette Boyd said, “Father Morris is well known to so many people because of his media outreach. We’re hoping that his presence with us that evening will give us continued momentum in the witness for life in this area.”

Just today, Morris posted the following comment on his Facebook page, “Come be with me tomorrow (Wednesday) in Shreveport, LA, to support pro-life efforts in that great city and diocese.”
